“I should feel confident about everything I do in my business.” That’s how a lot of entrepreneurs feel, and that “should” is a killer.

It puts pressure and strain on you, and most of us human beings respond to that with avoidance, faking it, or covering it up. None of these tactics feels real or good, and they can all lead to messes later on.

Instead, just tell the truth. Then you create an opportunity to either transform something, or delegate it to someone who can handle it so well that you end up feeling confident about your capabilities in that area.

Telling the truth about your limitations also sets a good example to others: Wouldn’t you rather know when they need help, rather than have them avoiding, faking, or covering up?
